Dawn grew up in Fargo and Tracy in Hettinger North Dakota. They married and moved to Minneapolis, then Chicago and back to North Dakota when their kids started school.
Tracy and Dawn have always been Lutheran. The last church they attended was St. John Lutheran Church in Dickinson, North Dakota, where they were members for 30 years.
In August of 2021, Tracy and Dawn moved to the Northwest to be near their three daughters. who all moved out here as adults. One daughter is married to a “wonderful guy”, and they have a “sweet baby girl”, their only grandchild.
Dawn is a retired teacher, after teaching for 35 years. She currently works as a substitute, teacher a couple times per week. Tracy is a retired Secondary Business Education teacher.
Tracy and Dawn love hiking and walking with each other and with their family; they “discover new trails all the time”. The couple love finding new places to walk, eat, shop and sightsee. Dawn also loves reading, mainly mysteries. She has also scrapbooked. Dawn says she is interested in learning to knit.
Dawn likes to feel included. If there are things needed or activities on-going, a personal call or Email makes her feel less “shy”. She likes to have a personal connection.
When asked about their first impressions of St. Mark, Dawn stated, “We love the uplifting music! It was what first “grabbed” us. We love the things the church does to help those in need. And we love the friendly people and pastors. All those things made us want to join.” Tracy says he finds the people of St. Mark to be very caring and kind, and that they, “do a lot to assist the less fortunate”.
It sounds like Dawn and Tracy are active, interested and ready to “get involved”. If you haven’t already, be sure to welcome them and extend an invitation!
