Our pews and chairs throughout the church were adorned on Sunday, October 29, 2023 with beautiful, handcrafted quilts created by our St. Mark Quilters. Once a year, the group’s quilts are boxed up and sent to Lutheran World Relief for distribution across the world, helping those effected by poverty, war and natural disasters. Annually, 300,000 quilts from various sources are sent to Lutheran World Relief for this important ministry. This year, 131 quilts from St. Mark will be added to those being sent worldwide.
Furnishing quilts is another way St. Mark can wrap those in need in warmth and love. Pastor Beth blesses the quilts during worship service, as each quilt is touched by our congregation members. The blessing reminds us all that we are not alone, even in difficult times.
If you are interested in learning how you can get involved with this ministry, please talk to members of the St. Mark Quilting Group. Check with the church office for specific contacts.
Thank you, St. Mark Quilters, for your hard work and loving hands!
