Today was a John the Baptist Sunday.
At the heart of our Advent preparation stands John the Baptist, who calls us to repent and make a new beginning.
Just before Jesus begins his public ministry, John the Baptist appears in the Matthew 3:1-12 Gospel, calling people to mend their ways and speaking of a powerful one who is to come.
The Baptism of Jesus will be coming up after Christmas but in today’s Gospel, John the Baptist talks of being unworthy.
Pastor Eric, with a cold, sang and asked us to remember who we are and who we belong to. He used feathers as a way to help us remember God’s promise to us.
We are Loved children of God.
