In today’s Gospel from Luke 12:32-40, Jesus encourages his disciples to not be afraid… “for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom”. He advises to be ready for action when God’s generosity is received, so that those blessings and treasures can be given to others.
In today’s world, there are many reasons to be afraid. And our fears are often played upon by others for their own gain. But as Jesus said, instead of facing life with fear, we are to align our values with God’s generosity and share the gifts we have been given.
God’s promise to His little flock is freely and absolutely given; we cannot earn our way into the kingdom. Hold on tight to that grace-filled thought!
