Pastor Beth began her sermon today with the Robert Frost’s poem, “Lodged”.
“The rain to the wind said,
‘You push and I’ll pelt.’
They so smote the garden bed
That the flowers actually knelt,
And lay lodged – though not dead.
I know how the flowers felt.”
Many of us have felt like those flowers…blown over, pelted, lodged by a problem or situation. And then we hear God’s love song and feel his amazing grace. God sings us through “dangers, toils and snares”. He sings to us when we are lodged. And He keeps singing His love song until He sings us into eternal life. Every time we hear God’s song, we are lifted back up, and our roots are strengthened deeper in his love.
