Ron was born and grew up in Tracy, MN. When he was 18, he attended Mankato State College for two years, then transferred to Augustana University, a private college affiliated with the Evangelical Lutheran Church, in Sioux Falls, S.D. He attended there from 1954 to 1956. Ron then attended graduate school at Iowa State University in Iowa City, Iowa. Ron became a Chemist and went to work for the Corning Company in New York. Later, he worked for Chevron in California.
Ron was married in 1959. His wife passed away in 2012. He has two sons, Bruce and Brad. Brad has lived in the Olympia area for 30 years and wanted his Dad and brother to move here from Napa, CA. They decided to make the move and have been here about a year. Ron and Bruce began attending St. Mark and liked it very much. They were received as new members in October, 2015.
