When asked to name the biggest problem humans have, Mother Teresa said, “We draw the circle of our family too small. We need to draw it bigger everyday.” Like the ripples formed when a pebble is dropped into a pool, we are asked to open our hearts and widen that circle. We do that by being generous, with what we have, with who we are, and especially with our forgiveness. We open the circle with honest communication-always speaking reconconciliation and understanding. And by inviting – it’s never just about us. On this, the Sunday of the Baptism of Our Lord, Pastor Beth renewed and reaffirmed the promise of our own baptisms, helping us remember that we are already drawn into the circle of God’s family. As our very own Baptismal Hymn says, “God loved us from the start. With the water and the Spirit, we pledge to do our part.” Hear Pastor Beth’s entire sermon by clicking the link below.
