Greetings! My name is Linda. My husband, Ken, and I were born and raised in Rochester, Washington, and spent our careers in education in Washougal, Belfair, Mossyrock, Toledo, and Sequim, Washington. After raising three children and completing our years in the education field, we decided to retire here in Lacey. We then began looking to join a Lutheran church and attended St. Mark. We looked no further, and have been members here since 2002.
As a newcomer to St. Mark, I was very happy when Barbara S. asked me to join the Welcome Committee. I accepted this invitation because I believe the initial impression a visitor gets when he/she comes through our door is crucial. In addition, it is fun to greet visitors, to welcome them to our worship services, and to hopefully interest them in joining our congregation. The work that has been done by the group has promoted the need to show sincere interest in those who attend and visit St. Mark. In short, I enjoy being part of this work!
Ken and I have also attended several of the “Feed’n’Weed” Wednesday work nights this summer. St. Mark can be proud of its contribution of garden products to the Thurston County Food Bank; kudos to all who have worked so hard on this project.
Ken and I look forward to greeting our new pastor and to spending many more happy years at St. Mark!
Linda and Ken A.
