This month, council member, Vicki P, shares her love of kids and horses — and how combining them has been a great benefit to her, the kids and the horses.
“Hi there, my name is Vicki and I have been attending St. Mark for almost twenty years. During that time I have had the privilege of worshipping under four pastors, five music directors and several interns. They have all assisted me in my faith walk and I am taking this opportunity to thank each and every one of them.
About eighteen years ago my kids and I started house sharing with another St. Mark family and our home produced four amazing people. I have two children, Becky and Craig and a granddaughter Savannah. Jo has two children Maren and Scott. We are extremely proud of the adults they have grown into. I would love to share stories about them with each of you. We also have four Labradors and four cats which are joyful and teach me about unconditional love every day.
My interests include horseback riding and volunteering. Riding my horse through the forest and being part of a life bigger than mine is such an amazing feeling. I have been involved in 4-H for thirty years and continue to enjoy the challenges and the joy that watching young people grow brings me. Through this experience I have been truly blessed. I am a 4-H leader and was superintendent of the horse program for 10 years. All of our kids were in horse 4-H. The educational experiences as well as the teamwork skills they learned continue to aid them in their endeavors. I still volunteer in order to give to the program that gave our kids so much.
I love St. Mark and the people that call this their church home.
Actually they are St. Mark, and they are my family.”
